I worked along side Mabel's desk at Ryerson Steel during the mid-sixties. I was an estimator in the work-order dept. and she did all the material calculations for the quotes I worked on. She was like a mother to all the men and women in that dept I had a lot of respect for her as she taught me a lot about the steel business from her perspective. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this time.

David and Frank and families, it was with great sadness that I read about Mabel. She and I have been friends for over 30 years -- she was good friends of my grandmother, Helen McKenna, and I was the Senior Citizen Director in both Lisle and Bolingbrook. She travelled with me quite extensively back then, and we have remained friends through the years. She was an AMAZING woman and I will miss her. But I hope I can live out my life like she did. What an amazing women! My thanks to Mrs. Grimes. Mrs. Grimes established a scholarship at Sts Peter and Paul to assist a graduate attending Catholic High School. As a mother of a son who has been the recipient of her scholarship I send my thanks and heartfelt sympathies to her family.
