Mable Stevens Hutcherson Avery, age 88, of Delight, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004.

She was born on March 16, 1916, at Mount Vernon, Texas, the daughter of Charles Ingraham Stevens and Emma Sue White Stevens. On July 13, 1941, she was married to Hollis Hutcherson, who preceded her in death on March 6, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Ivan Avery.

She was a member of the Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Cletius Hutcherson of Delight; six daughters, Francis Alexander of Gurdon, Joann Brewer of St. Louis, Missouri, Lola Lane of Delight, Sue Maxwell of Gurdon, and Fay Whisenhunt and Belle Lamb, both of Delight; one step-son, Denver Avery of Delight; two step-daughters, Geraldine Green of Prescott and Mary Staggs of Delight; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 3, 2004, in the Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Sewell officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Delight Cemetery, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Mark Lane, Kevin Casey, Boytt Hutcherson, Chad Lamb, Richard Tomlinson, and Mike Gilliam.
