Not sure what to say?

I am using a published Presbyterian book for prayer guidance for public prayers. The most profound ones to me, were entered by Rev. Turnage. I finally googled his name, and found that he was deceased in 2008. This is now 2022, and I don't know if this message will reach a family member, but I thought if so you would appreciate knowing his brilliance lives on! - Phoebe Collins, Denton, TX

Anne - We were deeply saddened by the death of a great man and a wonderful friend.

We have many fond memories of our time with Mac and the "Good Committee." Both of you had a big influence on our lives.

We pray that God's comfort will be with you and all of your family.

Love,

Bob & Phyllis Evans

Anne, how sad I am to hear of Mac's death but how grateful I am for the hope of the resurrection. I am reminded of March 3, 1985 when Mac preached at my ordination service in the Chapel at Covenant PC in Charlotte. What a glorious day that was and how delighted I was to share it with a guy who had "gone to the mat" for me in my ordination process. My prayers will be for your physical strength since I already know of your spiritual strength.

Ann: Profound sympathy to you in the loss of a great person that this family will always remember.

I knew Mac and Anne through my parents' Christmas cards until I joined MDPC in 1991. I barely introduced myself before I was embraced. They guided me through a difficult time. My prayers are with all of you.

Love to you all and gratitude to God that our paths crossed with this saint! May you find joy and peace in your happy memories of Mac and know that we all do the same.

Turnage Family, We mourn with you but at the same time give thanks to God for the life of Mac Turnage and his ministry among us. Anne, yours and Mac's ministry at Covenant in Charlotte was life shaping and directional for so many. You taught us how to love and how to laugh. Our sincere sympathy is with each of you.

We have cherished Mac as our friend and mentor. He nurtured so many young ministers and their families in Charlotte in the 1980's. The Turnage home was our safe harbor where we would always find welcome. CanCare and your other legacies continue. I hope that to whatever extent we are faithful to the things Mac taught us we will carry his good work forward as we serve the church he loved.

May God's peace be with you,
Tawes and Susan Forester DeWyngaert

My sincerest sympathy to the family and my deepest expression of love for my buddy and classmate at
Southwestern, who lived every day for "others". What a contribution he
made to mankind then and in the
recent past. Maclyn, I know where you are,and intend to join you.
