Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Mack´s passing. I met him while volunteering at the Smithville American Legion. Over time we became friends and I will forever be grateful for that. I loved his stories about his life. He loved his family so much. And always had something to tell me about his grandchildren. Condolences to his family. They sure were lucky to have him.

I just recently heard that Mack passed and am so very sorry. He was a close friend of my parents and was a favorite of my father while he was in high school at Smithville in the early 1940s which led to a lifetime friendship that included my brothers and me. Some of my early significant projects happened because of Mack's friendship. My deepest sympathy is for his entire family and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

My dad, Phil, grew up with Mack and often spoke of him fondly. I'm sure Dad was there to great Mack when he passed. My profound condolences to Mack's children.

What a great man and tremendous supporter of all of us who attended and competed in various sports at Missouri Valley College. Always a warm smile and word of encouragement. Sorry for you loss.

CRAIG: Condolences....the apple didn't fall from the tree.

Mack was one of the people I respected most in my life. He was straight forward and he always let you know where you stood with him. He was an extremely loyal person and he would be in your corner at all times. He was full of humor and was a ball to be around. And he was smart, very smart. he could look at a project and almost immediately know if it was a winner or a loser. Mack had a profound impact on my life and I will always be thankful to him for all he did for me. But probably most of...

My condolences to the Porter family. I met Mack when I became an Alderman for the City of Kearney. I learned a lot from Mack, but one lesson that stands out is his love for the community. I interviewed Mack, as a goal I have is to interview 50 Veterans, and Mack was one of my Veteran interviews. The interview was 45 minutes long, but we had to schedule three interviews, and what an interview. Mack will be visibly missed, but never forgotten. To the Porter family, may your memories in...
