Dear Marla and Brian,

I was deeply grieved to hear of the loss of your daughter. Please know, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Marla and Brian: Just heard of your loss and wanted to express how much I know your heart is hurting. I remember when I came to paint the Kids room in 2000 and sat in the floor playing. It seems only yesterday and I can truthfully say, I know how you feel after losing my 18 yr son, Joe, to Leukemia... Mackenzie Gardner was such a sweet girl. She was intelligant beyond compare, and she could never ever hurt someone. Her intentions were always good, and her teachers and classmates loved to have her around. Mackenzie was a friend of mine from 5th grade and I trully almost fainted when I heard the news. I hope she's gone someplace better, and may she rest in peace.
R.I.P Mackenzie.
We love you.

Brian and Marla,
I was very grieved to hear that little Mackenzie had passed away. Chris had told me many stories of her courage and sweetness of disposition. I was glad to get to see her last year at Carter-Finley. The Wolfpack faithful have lost one of our cutest and most precious cheerleaders. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
