Baier Family Funeral Services - Flatville Obituary

Mackinzie "Kinzie" Shantel Peters, 21, of the Rantoul and Gifford areas passed away at 8:01 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 108 E Church Street, Gifford with Rev. Scott Guhl officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda. Arrangements are being handled by Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the church and also one hour prior to the service, Saturday 10-11 a.m.

Mackinzie was born July 17, 1996 in Urbana the daughter of Kirk and Renea Mennenga Peters.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Renea (Brad) Saltsgaver of Gifford; her father and stepmother, Kirk (Lindie) Peters of Naples, FL; one brother, Gage Peters of Indianapolis; half-sister, Cami Saltsgaver of Gifford; one stepbrother, Tanner Saltsgaver; two stepsisters, Tessa Wilson, Tasha Saltsgaver; maternal grandparents, Pam and Tom Browning of Rantoul; paternal grandmother, Amy (Raymond McCarthy) Peters of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; maternal great grandmother, Norma Sowell of Rantoul; one uncle, Derek Browning of Rantoul; god parents, Steve and Lana Sample of Paxton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her great grandfather, Clayton Sowell.

She graduated from Rantoul Township High School, Class of 2014. She had worked for County Market, Rantoul for several years and most currently at Macy's.

Kinzie enjoyed music, movies and was an avid reader. She was also fond of social media and taking selfies. Her greatest joy was her dog "Scooter". Kinzie's final act was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
