He was one of the best teachers I ever had, and a mentor as well. Algebra was certainly not my long suit, and the fact that he got me interested in it was a significant accomplishment. He coached me in football, and continued to provide inspiration through the years. My sense of loss is tempered by the joy of seeing him for the last time at our 50th class reunion in October. He will be missed by all who met him, myself included.

I worked together with Mac for two summers at Bill Tripletts Camp Wachusett in Holderness, New Hampshire. Those were wonderful, wonderful days.

I was in the very first class he taught, 6th grade 1955-56, at Landon School in Bethesda MD, and several more math & science classes in following years. He was very much a mentor and friend to me for many years after that. There is not room for me to say all the good things I have to say about him. So, RIP Mac !
