May he rest in peace! When Bishop Gassis was a young priest in Khartoum in 1978, he became a close friend of my family and his love has blessed us ever since. Macram was a selfless fighter for other people his whole life, and never shied away from the personal trials and persecution he suffered. He will be forever remembered for his untiring love.
