Madeleine was the sweetest and kindest person. I always enjoyed seeing her at the Credit Union. She would keep me up-to-date on her children and grandchildren. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. My deepest sympathy to the family. Diana Ramsey

Mrs Carpenter was such a beautiful person inside & out! Always smiling & caring. I loved visiting her & chatting with her. She was my daughter's favorite teacher for more then 24 yrs and I loved her so much. She was God's greatest creation & will surely be missed but never forgotten

I have known Madeleine for over 30 years. We both were paras at Bowles School, attend the same church, and live 2 streets apart. She was one of the finest people I know with a great smile, warm heart, and love for her family. She will be missed. Condolences to her entire family and many friends. To the Carpenter family, I´m sorry for your loss. Madeline was always smiling joking and a good sport. I remember when working with her at Bowles school. As a new teacher she was so kind and helpful to me. I especially remember when St. Patrick´s Day came around and some of the teachers would decorate the teachers room in green shamrocks and St. Patrick´s goodies, she would always remind us.., Just remember St. Joseph´s day is on the 19th!

I met Madeleine back in the nineties when I was working for the railroad just outside of Springfield. I was also fortunate to meet the majority of her wonderfull family. She visited Louisville, KY a few times and once we went on a canoe trip to MO. She was strictly a city lady but willing to explore the country where we went. I also worked in MA about 4 months and we had many great times togther. I found that she was a great cook and made the best Liver and onions I ever ate. I am very sorry...

Matante had a heart of gold; I will miss our times together immensely. She told stories like no one else, made us smile and laugh, and her cooking was superb (her ragout and meat pie were the best). Matante always made time for the people she loved and cared for. She had such compassion for her family, friends and even those she did not know; she could talk to anybody, striking up conversations with anyone she came into contact with. She made you feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed. Matante,...
