Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathies to the Cain family. It was an honor to serve under Madeline for my time working as an employee for the city of Lakewood. There is a special place in my heart for Madeline, she will be missed ...

I had the pleasure of teaching with Madeline in 1974-75 at Saint Augustine Academy. We only worked together for a year but as time went on I always loved seeing her and catching up. She was a perfectly lovely person. May she rest in peace with the God she served so well through all the work she did to make life better for so many others for so many years. My sympathies to her family of whom she was so very proud.

Madeline and I worked together at Euclid National Bank in the early 80's. Banking wasn't always the easiest career for women in those days. It was with much admiration that I watched Madeline go on to become a successful State Representative and then Mayor of Lakewood. Our paths went in different directions and haven't crossed for many years. I was sorry to read of her passing. We shared many good laughs and had wonderful discussions about life. Heaven will enjoy having you!!

One of Gods beautiful people. She kept the sacred trust. Safe Home cuz. Eddie Cain

My deepest sympathy to Madeline Cain's family and friends. I knew her because of our similar backgrounds and our love of Lakewood. She was a hardworking mayor who was very helpful in securing funds and supporting our efforts for the building of a new YMCA in the city which was and is a great asset for the people of Lakewood, Thank you for your leadership and your friendship, Madeline... May you rest in peace, Cathy Walsh

I had the personal honor of serving with Mayor Cain while I was mayor of the city of Middleburg Heights. She was gracious, principled, and always meticulously well prepared at our regular mayors meetings. My friends living in Lakewood adored her for her skillful management of the city, creative ideas, and always a keen problem solver. Thank you Mayor Cain for your warm friendship. Mayor Gary W. Starr (retired)

I lived on the 105th street and Madeline lived one street over. We grew up together and went to school, at Alcott on West 104th. We spent time together as children because we lived so close. I visited her when she became Mayor, what a proud moment for her.

Lakewood has lost a servant that truly loved her city. Our prayers are with her family. She will be remembered as a tough but sweet politician. May she Test In Peace

My deepest sympathies. Wishing you peace and comfort.
