Madeline A. (Hayes) Stumpf, 91, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at The Elms Center in Milford, NH with her family at her side. She was born on October 7, 1932 in Waltham, MA, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Riley) Hayes.
She was wife of the late William O. Stumpf, Sr., whom she married on January 13, 1951 in Waltham, MA.
Madeline was a graduate of Waltham High, Class of 1951. Throughout her career, she worked as a book keeper for JF McElwain, Edgcomb Metals, Ingersoll Rand, and The Salvation Army.
In her free time, she enjoyed camping, motorcycles, and helping out at the Salvation Army. She was also President of the American Legion Auxiliary 107 New Ipswich. Madeline loved family and hosting holidays at her home. She and Bill spent many years at their summer camp in Westford, MA, where they had many friends.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Stacy E. Stumpf.
She is survived by three children, William O. Stumpf, Jr. and wife Janet of Nashua, James Stumpf and wife Kimberly of Washington, NH, Thomas Stumpf and wife Lorraine of Merrimack; ten grandchildren, Courtney Patterson, Maxwell Calise, Brandon Stumpf, Kerrie Gagnon, Benjamin Stumpf, Amber Stumpf, Amanda Jackson, Lindsey Jackson, Gillian Holt, and Timothy Stumpf; as well as twelve great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, Ee-u-Wee-u.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home (Formerly Zis), 26 Kinsley Street in Nashua on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Parish, 29 Spring Street in Nashua on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 9am. Interment will follow Mass at St. Catherine Cemetery in Westford, MA. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Madeline’s name may be made to The Elms Center, 71 Elm St, Milford, NH 03055 or Home Health & Hospice at https://www.hhhc.org/how-to-help/memorial-gifts/.
