RICHMOND, Virginia
ZIEGLER, Madelon M., 72, of Richmond, Va., passed away quietly on March 2, 2013, surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Madelon was born July 31, 1940 in Baltimore, Md. She graduated in 1958 from Western High School, and in 1959, she married her childhood sweetheart, Leonard M. Ziegler. Madelon was devoted to her family and enjoyed flower gardening, travel, art and photography. Madelon became an accomplished artist and photographer, with much of her work exhibited at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. Madelon is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leonard M. Ziegler; her sons, Stephen (Sherry) of Hollywood, Fla. and Robert (Beth) of Midlothian, Va.; and three grandchildren, Erin, Kevin and Zachary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will held on April 3, at 11 a.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond on 1000 Blanton Ave., Richmond, Va. 23221. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Madelon's memory to Food For the Poor, http://www.foodforthepoor.org/madelonziegler
