Madelyn R. Ebert

Mel will be much missed in her neighborhood at St. John's Home. I in particular will remember how she'd light up at the sound of my voice and join in whenever we sang; her love of life was evident to all. Her husband, Ed, also became a cherished part of our family, and we hope that he can visit us regularly. We thank God for the gift of such friends.

I have known Mrs. Ebert's daughter, Eileen, since junior high school. I remember being somewhat "envious" of the relationship she and her mother had with each other! I also remember that Mrs. Ebert served as a role model for me, growing up. Many women, back when I was in high school, still stayed home while their husband's worked. I admired the fact that her mom seemed more independant, and went out and made her way in the workplace....and I decided I wanted to be the same type of woman...
