Madelyn Genevieve (Tommeraas) Olson, 88, died peacefully on March 7, 2011 in Henderson, NV. She was a previous resident of Red Wing, MN, and Plymouth, MN. She was born on July 13, 1922 in Northfield, MN, the daughter of Gustave A. Tommeraas and Ida S. (Rustad) Tommeraas. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1940 and married Marshall Olson on December 10, 1944. He died in 1971. Madelyn was a member of Community Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, NV, and a former member of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN. She was active in the Sons of Norway and had worked as a bank teller, secretary and bookkeeper. She was a woman of strong faith, who enjoyed spending time with her family and working on a multitude of quilting projects. She is survived by her daughters Sharon (Roger) Maroushek, Henderson, NV, Marjorie (Mark) Johnson, Minnetonka, MN, and Janice (Wilbert) Bond, Portland, OR, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, her sister Helen (Jim) Like, Brandon, SD, and nieces and nephews. A private burial service will be held on March 20 in Cannon Falls and a memorial service will be held at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, MN, on April 17, 2 pm, with Pastor Carol Sinykin officiating. Gathering following the service at River Flame Restaurant, 6 miles south of Cannon Falls on Hwy.52.
