Read MoreI have fond memories of Mae Meredith as my back-door neighbor as I grew up in Walnut Cove. Also, she was a good friend of my sister Ann. I remember her exuberance and musical talent and how enthusiastically and lovingly she spoke of Alfred. Her death is another mark for me of the passing of an era. I send her family, especially old friend James, my deepest sympathy.
