It is difficult to imagine Porter-Gaud these days without Mrs. Tassin. She was an inspiration, and her saintly kindness knew no bounds. Her crocheted bookworms were quite the incentive to get us wily six year olds to read more. My sister and I consider ourselves fortunate indeed to have spent our first grade year in Mrs. Tassin's classroom.
