MAE A. TATE, age 93, resident of Talco, Texas for the last twelve years, formerly a resident of Irving, Texas for sixty years, died Dec 10, 2003 at a Tyler hospital. Born Feb 7, 1910 in Gus, Burleson County, Texas. She retired from the University of Dallas after ten years. Before that she was employed by Days-In of Irving for eight years and prior to that employed for thirty years at Better Monkey Grip in Dallas. She was a member at the First Baptist Church of Union Bower in Irving. Preceded in death by her son, Billy Charles Tate, Spring of 2001 and her husband John Wesley Tate, Feb 12, 1952. Survivors include her daughter Polly Gossett of Talco; grandchildren Laura Christine Baker of Hawaii, Johnny Ralph Barton of Brashear, Daniel Kurt Barton of Talco, Shelia Gay Atkins of Irving and Charles Frank Tate of Arlington; eight great grandchildren; brother Bill Radtke of Houston. Visitation 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Service 2:00 pm, Monday, Dec 15, 2003 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Vivian Pierce officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
