Mae E. Yoder, age 87, Nappanee, passed away at 1:54 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her children singing hymns.  She was born January 13, 1935 in Nappanee to Eli and Drusilla (Gerber) Yoder.  On April 24, 1955 she married Amzie N. Yoder at Maple Lawn Mennonite Church.  He preceded her in death April 13, 2022.  Mae was a member of the Berea Christian Fellowship.   Mae was also involved with her husband, Amzie, in various mission organizations and The Gideons Auxiliary.  She was the heart of the family and thrived on being where the action was.  No person was a stranger in their home.  People from all walks of life felt loved and accepted and never left hungry. Surviving are her children, Sharon Yoder, Nappanee, Deborah (David) Yoder, Nappanee, Mark (Barb) Yoder, Syracuse, Timothy (Ruth) Yoder, Bourbon, James (Gladys) Yoder, Nappanee, Esther (Brent) Hochstetler, Nappanee; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter; siblings, Tressie Slabaugh, Indianapolis, Eli J. (Jane) Yoder, Sturgis, MI, Howard (Nicole) Yoder, Ocala, FL, Inez Yoder, Winfield, PA, Esther Bush, Sarasota, FL, Raymond (Lee Ann) Yoder, Loogootee, IN, Martha (Mervin) Graber, Washington, IN, Fred (Louann) Yoder, Winfield, PA; sisters-in-law, Kathryn Yoder-Coblentz, Stone Lake, WI, and Helen Yoder, Indianapolis.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angelita Yoder; siblings, Lyle Yoder, Glen (Elizabeth) Yoder (both deceased), and Lester Yoder.  Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2022 at Berea Christian Fellowship (504 N. Main St., Nappanee).  Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 13th also at Berea Christian Fellowship.  Pastors Leighton Yoder and Keith Yoder will officiate.  Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to The Gideon’s International.
