Makonnen died too young. Indeed, he never grew old in my mind. He was a lovely, gentle, intelligent, sensitive and love-embracing person. His wife, Lisbet, was a worthy companion and, together, they created an atmosphere of gracious and caring love for all, including me and my wife, Shirley (now deceased). He and Lisbet were good friends and great people.
