We are very sorry to hear of Dr. Bourne's passing. For thirty years I (Stan) worked for him as a research assistant.

I am deeply sad to hear the demise of a great professional Colleague and friend,in Dr Malcolm Bourne. Dr Bourne was so affectionate, caring and encouraging to me always. First time I met him was in the IUFoST meeting in Nantes in 2006. and ever since then , I have always cherished the interactions with him. He and his wife used to be together in the meetings and it has been a great experience and fond moments for me. He was a simple and unassuming person . May his soul rest in peace.

We express our condolences to Janice and to the family of Malcolm; yet even most sincere words can't match the deep sadness felt by his loved ones. Their loss of Malcolm is so personal that we hope for time and past memories to overcome the pain. It's only recently I met this brilliant, gentle man and felt his goodness, enjoyed the twinkle in his eye, admired his scholarship and saw him, straight-on, face a disease with faith and courage.
