Not sure what to say?

It is always sad to remember the passing of Dr. Malcom Bowers. On the anniversary of his passing l extend my sincere condolence to his beloved family, may he continue to rest in peace. Malcom will always be remembered fondly as a teacher, physician/psychiatrist, academic of repute, a mentor and above all a family man.

I will fondly remember Dr Bowers always as a great teacher, physician and person who was keen to teach his students, keen to ensure his patients get well as well as willing to hear and take into account other views. He was a mentor and will always be seen as such. He surely will be missed by all. May he rest in peace.

As teacher, mentor and colleague, Malcom represented a vocation which is sadly vanishing-he attended to the individual patient's humanity and suffering with his own rare combination of compassionate nobility and scientific expertise. There was no better lesson than watching him interview a patient.

How saddened I was to hear of the death of Dr. Bowers, neighbor, friend and family counselor. Always kind, often funny and never judgmental, I was honored to have known such a fine man and father. I think of him whenever I view the high tide on the Thimble Islands or enjoy the fragrance of the beautiful linden trees on Yowago Avenue and elsewhere. Godspeed Dr Bowers. Thank you for your patience with me and kindness to our family over the years. You will be greatly missed by your family...

Malcolm was a long-time friend from University Park Elem. School to Highland Park Jr. High, Highland Park HS (class Jan, 1951), and SMU. He and I had fond memories of those days. My sincere sympathy to his family.

I saw Dr. Bowers on occasion for medication consultation.
I always felt safe, respected and comfortable when seeing him.
I am deeply saddended by his death and wonder, how could "god" take away such an extraordinary man.

He will always be remembered for his fountain of knowledge, love of imparting knowledge, ability to stimulate learning and his love for his patients, students and colleagues.

Dr. Bowers was an excellent psychiatrist and teacher, but also an exceptionally nice person. I am saddened to learn of his death.

Malcolm's legacy is a wonderful one...he will live on in the passion exhibited by his daugher Sasha...having met him a few times, he graced this world in a way that was important, reminding us o f the humanity of everyone, including those who live with mental illness. Please know we hold you all in our hearts during this time of heartache...Sasha...we love you and miss you..what a treasure you are...
