Not sure what to say?

I´m sorry to see this so late. Dr. Magaw was a brilliant professor. He fostered in me a love of literature and the value of the right words to express the right ideas. Brilliant, witty, a scholar and a gentleman.

Dr. Magaw was an incredible human being. He was inspirational in class and as an advisor. I was in awe of him as an undergrad and as a graduate student whose Master's thesis he gladly agreed to oversee. He was gentle and brilliant and caring. I used to talk about him to my husband after classes about how amazing his lectures were. Then at an English Dept. party one evening, my husband had an opportunity to speak with him. Dr. Magaw was one of my favorite Professors at UNO, and I remember with great joy his classes. He was gracious enough to provide me with a letter of recommendation when I set out to enter Graduate Studies. He will be deeply missed by all who remember him, and joyfully remembered by all who knew him.

More than forty years later, I can truly say that I wouldn't be where I am now had I not gotten that job. I wouldn't have met my wife, and we wouldn't have had our daughter, had I not gotten that job. And now, whenever I'm asked to read...

Dr. Magaw was my major professor on my way to a master's in English at UNO. Dr. Magaw was a great teacher and a great gentleman.
