Not sure what to say?

Dear Pope Family, we first met Tony when he worked with our boys at Southside Videos while attending Coastal. To say he was a pleasant person is an understatement, but he always had a smile and a cheerful word for everyone. We were out of town when our boys called and told us of his passing. We were shocked and our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. May God provide his mercy and grace to sustain all of you during the days ahead.

Tony will be miss me and my son, Kyndal. Tony coach my son the past to years and I step into his spot this past year. From the short time I and my son work with him, we learn a lot, and not just football, but about life and how people should be treated. He will be missed. You are in my family thoughts and prayers.

Tony always displayed a kind and friendly demeanor that I will never forget. I worked with Tony at GSWSA and always enjoyed being around him because of his positive outlook. May God comfort his family in this time of sorrow.

Darrell, I just found out about Tony. We had lost touch after he worked @ Southside but I will always remember his smile. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for you. I feel blessed having been able to know Tony!

I can not find the words to say how sad I am right now. I watched Tony playing with the kids at the Rec Center with a smile on his face. Taking care of him at the hospital he might have been feeling bad,but he always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. His wife is a wonderful woman. I pray that God will comfort you all. For his nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters, I pray that Gods grace and mercery will be with you all. I pray that you all have comfort knowing he knew God and...

You are in our prayers. Tony was a lovely person. Mary Mintz

I knew Tony when he was in high school. He was in my sons class and they played footbal together. He was liked by everyone. I saw him a few years back and he was still his friendly self. I am so sorry for your lost. May God give you the strength you need for the days to come.

Tony was the only one of the "Pope Boys" that I did not know but I'm sure that he was much like all the others, positive in every way! To the entire family, please know that we are just so sorry for your loss and that you are in our thoughts and prayers!! Ann and Paul Bossert from Morganton, NC
