I only recently learned of Mr. Skinner's death. He was a good friend to both Caroline and I during our time in the Loan Industry for many years. We will always have such good memories of this good man.

I went to Ga Tech and married an UGA lawyer who happened to be dear friends with Malcom. Because of Malcom and Margy I fell in love with bulldogs. Ted bought me a bulldog related to UGA IV and I named him Buzz Yellowjacket Harvey. Going to the UGA games with Ted and Malcom, sitting in the box enjoying the games, except when my Yellow Jackets were on the field will always be one of my fondest memories. I learned to love UGA and Malcom told me dozens of stories about growing up in Athens, going to UGA, owning the first UGA bulldog and WWII. I will always be thankful for his friendship and kindness after a Ted died. I never think of fall without remembering the good times with Malcom and Margy. Going to GILA conventions and just visiting was always a pleasure. Malcom was a true southern gentleman. I know he is missed. I miss Malcom and Margy. They loved me and I loved them.

Karen, Carol, Stephanie, Margaret,
I always considered your sweet Dad as my 2nd Dad growing up at AHS & First Baptist. He was one of the kindest, most genuine people I knew. He & my Dad, being the best of friends, made my relationship with him even more special. When my Dad was here with us at Christmas time, & we would walk into the front door, he & your Dad would gather in the corner & talk about old times, & the "mischief" they would get into at First Baptist. What a pair! My Dad was, of course, so saddened by the news of his passing, & expressed his being such a good man & friend. He will be sorely missed, but I take comfort in knowing that we will all be together again. Carlton always enjoyed having him as a neighbor & friend, & enjoyed his tomatoes! We love him dearly.
With deepest sympathies,
Lynda (Harden) & Carlton Powell

I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Skinner, and am truly grateful for the honor. He brought a smile to me every time I walked through the doors of First Baptist as a guest with my family. In fact, I made a point of finding him, if I didn't see him upon walking in. My visit to First Baptist simply wasn't complete until I had shaken Mr. Skinner's hand. Be well and Godspeed.

Dear Skinner Family: Malcom was a wonderful person in every aspect of the word. He was always concerned about others. He would always make it a point to come and speak to me every time that I was back in Athens at First Baptist church. I always enjoyed talking with him through the years. H e leaves a big hole at First Baptist Church. I will truly miss him and his smile. You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks. "Keep the Faith!"
