Malik Maurice Christopher McKay, a native and resident of New Orleans passed away on May 15, 2023. Malik was the loving son of Chandra McKay and Adrian Colar. Malik was well known for his Never Give Up Brand and working with many organizations. Malik also worked as a supervisor with L&R Security, Seal Security and Edifice Protection Group and was currently employed at the United States Postal Service. Malik was a graduate of Lake Area High School, furthering his education Malik received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Southern University of New Orleans in 2020. Malik will always be remembered as our 6’6 gentle giant with his bright smile and contagious laugh. 
Malik is survived by his mother Chandra (Louis) Pearley, father Adrian (Temple) Colar, two sisters Mya (Renaldo) and Mailia (Andre), four brothers Mikyah, Keenan, Kolston, and Kayden. One niece Myri’Ana Angel. Grandparents Leroy and Brenda McKay Jr., James and Mildred Colar. Three aunts Tah’Nisha and Ireal McKay, and Jamil Colar. One uncle James (Arlinda) Colar III. Godparents Sommer Joi Matthews and Eric Soniat Sr. A special friend Damaije Williams and a host of other aunts, uncles, family and friends. 
Malik is preceded in death by his great grandparents Leroy and Anna McKay Sr., Herman and Vera Cade, James and Willamina Colar Sr., and Anna Johnson. 
Relatives and friends of the family, employees of L&R Security, USPS, Edifice Protection Group, Conifer Health Solutions, NOPD, University Hospital Staff….are all invited to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Malik on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew Baptist Church 2823 English Turn Rd, Braithewaite, La 70040, Rev. Merlin P. Flores, Sr., Pastor/Officiating Minister. Visitation begins at 10:00 am. Interment private.
