Dear Mama,
You were nice, sweet, and lovely. If you can hear this I want you to love and stay sweet. You know that we all miss you and you miss us, but it was your time. You were all that we needed. Every time we saw you our eyes would glow of your beauty. You were so nice to children. There was no way we could call you grandma. You were just like our mom, so we called you Mama. Now for these 97 years you were here with us it is time to let you go.
May God bless...

Before Moma passed away she wanted Dawn or I to write a letter expressing her feelings to the family. She wanted Dawn to write it because she said, "Dawn writes faster then anybody I know". Then she expressed to me what she wanted in the letter. She began by saying, "I want to thank my enitre family along with all seven of my daughters". She wanted them to know how much she loves them and appreciated everything they have ever done for her. She said, "especially thank Kellie, Dee Dee and...

My deepest sympathy to the Stokes family. Miss Mamie impacted many lives including mine and my sisters. I remember all the activities and functions that we were a part of that molded us into the women that we are today. She will be truly missed. May your family be strengthened through the grace of God.
