Manert Howard Kennedy

It is difficult to believe that Manert left us more than a year ago. His great sense of humor, great stories regarding his military service, and travels to give academic lectures, etc., kept one quietly spellbound at times. At other times, they threw one into such gales of laughter, one could not help but cry. He was a first-rate entertainer as well as a serious thinker. My deepest condolences to family and friends of Maynert. I met him at his home with his caregiver, Joyce. Maynert enjoyed calls from friends, books, and debating those with differing views. ;) I am glad to have met him .

I met Manert, my second cousin once removed in about 1983. His great grandfather, Emil Friske of Wyandotte, MI, and my grandmother of Fayetteville, TX, were brother and sister and immigrated the same year from their birthplace in Posen, Prussia, now Poznan, Poland. While visiting Friske relatives in Michigan, I met Manert's late mother who put me in touch with him.
