Davidson, Manfred G. ‘Ben' age 89, of Brooklyn Center. Preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Shirley. He is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Dennis and Ruth Davidson, Neil and Deborah Davidson; daughter & son-in-law, Deborah and Don Jacobs; 7 grandchildren, Lindsay, Hannah, Morgan, Matthew (Jennifer), Evan (Shayla), Cory (Norma) and Leigh; 5 great- grandchildren, Lily, Soren, Ruby, Jackie and Natalie; also many other relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday 4-7 PM at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center with memorial service Friday 11:30 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 5200 Emerson Ave N., Mpls. If so desired, memorials may be given to Hope Lutheran Church or North Memorial Hospice. Private family interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Evans-Nordby 763-533-3000

I'm going to miss my best friend, relative, hero. We have written to each other since Ben was in the Army in Africa and Italy. I was in my teens then, but now I am 84 and we still wrote to each other.

Ben's 3rd Deborah was celebrating retirmement in Mexico and I am so saddened that I was not able to be with a family I so loved at this time. What a great man Ben was, so full of humor and acceptance. And what a blessing he was to others-and I was the lucky recipient of all that love and fun because I happened to have a wonderful friend in Deb. I got to be part of his life, through you, my dear friend, and I am all the better for it. God Bless- I will be in touch-d

Deb and family, We are sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I still remember him on our school board MANY years ago when we were still in school. He was a great board member and did well for old B.C. Thinking of you in your grieving and send good thoughts your way.

The family of Hudson Taylor send our sincere condolences in the passing of Ben. He and Shirley were such loyal friends to Hud and they shared a mutual fondness of Balsam Lake. May sadness turn to joy as you recall and cherish the wonderful memories and rejoice in each other.

I'm so thankful that my life intersected with that of G'pa Ben. What an interesting, kind, blessed man. When I visited him at his apartment and brought along a print-out of Jennifer's blog, we had a nice visit, as usual. He made mention of Neil's helpfulness in stopping over so often to take care of this and that, and I said, "You sure do have some nice kids." His immediate response was, "Yes, I sure do.
