Not sure what to say?

Mary,
Just learned of Manfred's death on my return to Syracuse. It is a great loss to all of us, and you have our sympathies. You did so much to make his life meaningful and wonderful. Hope the sea air and view will give you the fuels for reflection and renewal.

Mary, I just don't know what to say. I was stunned and saddened to read of Manny's death, and I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

You know, I went to S.U. to pursue my graduate studies in Sociology specifically because of Manny's work. He became my advisor and a dear friend. In the course of our relationship, and through the many projects we worked on together, I came to realize that I would never know anyone as deeply committed to ensuring that the world would never see another...

My deep condolences to the Stanley family - Mary, Marcus, Jason, Alex. relatives, friends, Faculty and associates. I am sure Manfred is well cared for in Heaven. While I am unknown to the group I felt a strong moral sense to pass on the following strange turn of events. I am currently a writer. I have a large collection of books, some of them early originals such as JM Baldwin and Wm F Ogburn. And of course I have a copy of Manfred's Technological Conscience - a superb work. Today, I began...

Mary, Marcus, and Jason.
Please accept my sincere condolences.
Sandy

I am Debbie Alexander's mother and I met Mr. Stanley at the reception for Debbie when she received her doctorate in Syracuse. She emailed me about your loss and I am sorry. She was very fond of him.

Mary, Barbara and I send our deepest, heartfelt sympathies. Manny will be remembered by us all as a most generous and inspiring colleague.

We will also remember him for his courage. How he handles adversity tells you much about a man, and Manny showed us all that he had great character as well as great intellect.

Mary and others in the family and friendship circle of Manny...

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss. It's been years since I worked with Manny on the TV show at Cortland...but I've always remembered his warmth, sincerity and passion for the project. His hospitality -- and yours, Mary -- during planning meetings touched me and has remained with me. I'm sure many at SU and elsewhere will carry on his work.

I'm sorry for your loss...
