My condolences to the Sarmiento family. I remember Manuel very well and still picture him as a well mannered student, always smiling.
The memories shared with my students
at FHS remain an important part of
my life.
God Bless

My sincere sympathy to you Gladys in the passing of your husband, Manuel. I won't be able to attend the funeral service, because I will be out of town. But I will keep you in my prayers that day, and I know the love and care of your family and friends will hold you up. But above all, may the strength of God keep you strong and encouraged in the days ahead. God loves you and will be there for you.

Grandpa....there is so much I would tell you if I had one more day with you. You have been the one strongest and greatest man in my life; I have always admired and looked up to as if you were my own dad. You have always been there for me whenever I needed you, and I never told you how much I loved you and appreciated everything you have ever done for me. You would have given me the world if I would have asked it. I miss our walks or short drives to Dairy Queen on those nice summer nights, the nights you finally let me drive you to DQ for once and of course you always telling me "EASY, EASY," when you thought I was driving to fast. I miss the days where I would go to work with you, even if it was just me sitting in the truck while you work, I loved the time we had together. My vacations were never a dull moment with you and grandma. You were the greatest man the world got to know, and especially the greatest man I will ever get to know. I will always cherish our time together. I love you forever.

Uncle Manuel, the world will miss you, you shared your time on this earth as a great man being a son, a brother, a husband, a father, an uncle, a grandfather, a brother in law, a friend, a community leader, a soldier, a traveler, a business owner, a visionary of great things, and a loving person toward all those around you. Now you can share all your wonderful attributes with all those in heaven. Rest in peace. May your family find peace in the memories they shared with you and hold on to the love in their hearts that you placed within them. Your loving niece, P.S. say hi to my dad, and you two better stay out of trouble!!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. As you know, growing up my family didn't have much. But my nino, your father, made it over to our house and brought me presents for my birthday. Words cannot express how special my birthdays became because of your father. He always found a way to reach out to me. He was great....Last time I saw him, it was a Friday during the Lenten season and my family and I were at Captain D's. Your mom and him were there and he got to meet my kiddos and my wife! I told him thank you for being my nino and I let him know I didn't forget his kindness to me when I was a little guy. When we got home, I told my family about the impact he had on my life... So, I guess what I am saying is, your dad was a very important to me and although I didn't see him daily, that one day a year and sometimes more-made the world of difference. I told my parents yesterday and my dad was saddened. I am sure we will all be there to pay our respects. Again, my condolences. Danny Sainz
