Manuel A. Untalan

Vietnam, 1970, an MP's V-100 stopped by our 'home' compound in Pleiku Province to visit, we climbed aboard. SSG Manuel Untalan, heavy weapons adviser, MAT 37.

I'm pretty sure Manuel was SSG Untalan on our MAT 37 Team in Pleiku Province, Vietnam, 1970-71. If so, he was the best Infantryman and NCO we had. The picture is our team, with intepreter, training a Montagnard Tribesmen Popular Forces Platoon in Claymore mine ambush techniques. I wrote a book on it. I have some other pictures in my scrapbook of him. Thank you.

Very sorry for you loss. Probably not the same man, but a teammate on our MAT team in Vietnam was Manuel Untalan, could this have been him by any chance? He was a good man.

I met Manny when I started in the Dental field in 1986 at FHP. My fondest memories of Manny is when he arrived to pick-up denture cases because he always brought doughnuts for us and give everyone a kiss and hug. Condolences to the family and I'm sorry I was not able to pay my respects but I did not hear of his passing.
