Marc Katz

Julie, I am so sorry to learn the passing of Marc. He was frequently an honored guest on our sports talk show on 980 WONE-AM and I learned so much from him as one of the most respected baseball writers and sports columnist in the country. His insight into the inner workings of the front office and club house of the Reds and Indians was priceless. He was a true "Old School" baseball writer and I was lucky to know and work with Marc. Me and Marc go along way back to my High school days at Roth and we did a short story about the my high school varsity coach Elijah Chatman who passed away after practice, I am sorry I missed his home going.

Another member of the Greater Dayton Baseball Hall of Fame rounds third and heads for Heaven.

Marc was an exceptional individual who left a lasting positive impact on the national sports community and inspired many with his commitment to community service. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Katz family.

I was a weekend Sports Assistant at the DDN during the fall of 1974. Had some great conversations with Marc and it was truly obvious that he loved what he was doing.

I never met Mr Katz, but I never got to say thank you for the beautiful obituary he wrote about my grandfather when he died in 1987. Still appreciated til this day. - Pat Baker, Jack Baker´s grandson.
