Marc Allen Resig

Marc Resig, 46, of Las Vegas passed away unexpectantly, August 31, 2018 at Centennial Hospital in Las Vegas. Marc was born in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania son of Michael "Mike" and Doris "Dolly" (Walls) Resig on June 20, 1972. Survived by his life-long love of 22 years Teresa Harper, her daughters Kristina (Kyle) Janiga and Beth Harper, grandchildren Alexandra, Evan, and Harrison Janiga, brothers Benjamin (Lisa) Resig, Raymond (Heather) Resig, sister Cara Resig (Aden Carnes), nephew James Resig, niece Pyper Resig, his beloved Aunts Sherry DiGiorgio and Laura "Kitty" (Ron) Musser, cousins Brett DiGiorgio, Katie Beth (Emory) Leppo, and Christopher (Rebekah) Musser.

Marc graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1990. He also studied Electro-Mechanical Technology at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. Marc served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in several locations including California, Japan, and Arizona. He was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Expert badges (4th award), Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and numerous Letters of Commendation and Letters of Appreciation. Marc loved being a Marine and would have re-enlisted if he had not been injured in a motorcycle accident in 1995. Marc left the Marines in 1996, relocated to Las Vegas, and became employed by Sprint Communications as a Contractor in the IT department. His knowledge of computer systems and deployment of a new email system launched a permanent career at Sprint that would last 12 years. Marc decided to leave Sprint in 2008 and became an independent IT Contractor. Marc kept his home in Las Vegas, worked in both Kentucky and New Jersey over the next two years. He desired to be full-time in Las Vegas and applied at Microsoft in 2010 and was hired on as a Senior Consultant. Marc loved his job at Microsoft and all the friendships he established with both his co-workers and his customers. Marc transferred to the Cyber Security Group in early 2018 and assisted many name brand businesses with their Cyber needs.

Marc loved adventure, speed, and of course his guns. He was an avid motorcycle rider and would ride his motorcycle in rain, snow, or heat. He was an excellent mechanic and was able to design and build his truck into a high-performance machine with horsepower that only he could appreciate. One of his greatest loves was his appreciation of guns. He was an excellent marksman and was always willing to share his skills with others. He loved going to the shooting range and would make a point to take others there if they were visiting him. There was nothing that Marc could not fix. He was an expert in electronics, plumbing, carpentry, and any other item he wanted to build, fix, or make better.
Marc had many hobbies including music, boating, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, repelling, camping, solar, and any new technology that came along. Marc was patient, thoughtful, and kind. He was a teacher and always willing to show someone how to do something if they wanted to learn. He realized that not everyone understood things as he did, so he was always able to gear the lesson in such a way you understood it. Marc was respectful of others but enjoyed the challenge of a lively debate if you hit the right topic: religion, work, or politics. He always stood up for what he believed.

Marc traveled for work and still made time to sit on the back patio with his close friends Bo and Craig. They would discuss whatever topics that former military guys discuss over whiskey and cigars. Laughter could always be heard bellowing from the patio. They would then conclude their evening with dinner at a local restaurant, a trip to Best Buy to buy the current Blu-Ray movies, and to investigate any new "toys" that just came out.

Marc met his life-long love Teresa Harper when he relocated to Las Vegas in 1996. He often joked that they met at work (Sprint) when he took over a conference room she had been using for a case she was working on. Their many adventures took them hiking, boating, camping, repelling, bicycling, and traveling to the Mediterranean. He loved her daughters and became their protector. He was always there to help with any car issues the girls were having and to ensure they were safe.
Marc was devoted to parents and siblings though they lived many states away, keeping in touch with them daily on the phone, through emails or text messages.
Marc will be deeply missed by many family, friends, and co-workers that knew and loved him.
