I was one of Marc's graduate students in the late 90's. He was much more than an advisor or mentor, he changed my life. In many ways, he was a father figure to me. Through my precious interactions with him, he guided me on the path I am currently on. I will miss him and remember him fondly.

Marc was a major inspiration for my career as well as a generous and thoughtful collaborator. His work on energy efficiency is under-recognized publicly, but he had a profound influence on the field and in building the case for better energy policies. He will be missed, but his contributions live on in many ways.
