Ruby Funeral Services & Crematories, Inc. Obituary

Marc A. Thrasher Sr. was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 6, 1972, to Andrea Thrasher and Alan Johnson. Shortly after, he became a blessing and a bonus son to his stepfather Michael Coleman. Marc gave his life to Christ at an early age and had a strong love for the Lord.

He attended George Washington Carver High School and furthered his education at Phillips College of Chicago where he completed a certification in Business Data Processing.

Marc met Mary at a young age, and they created two beautiful children: Malissa and Marc Jr.  He later united in Holy Matrimony to Jerlene Thrasher on August 16, 2007. Marc and Jerlene loved gathering with family and friends for BBQ’s, playing Keno, Dominos and celebrating holidays."

Marc was called home to God on November 12, 2024, at HSHS St. John Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.  He is preceded in death by his father Alan Johnson and stepfather Michael Coleman.

He leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife, Jerlene Thrasher; mother, Andrea Thrasher; daughter, Malissa Stiff (Lamont Stiff); son, Marc Thrasher Jr; brothers, Gregory Thrasher and William Thrasher (Marquita Thrasher); sister, Malissa Newman (Michael Newman); eight grandchildren and a ninth on the way along with a host of other family members and friends.
