Marc Suman Williams (January 24, 1966 - October 9, 2024). Husband, father, brother, positive force in the world died peacefully surrounded by his family. Marc lived his 58 years bringing joy to everyone he met. Marc followed in the footsteps of his older sister and brother, attending Kenyon College. He was a proud member of the Lords football team and the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Marc’s ultimate purpose in life was fulfilled when he married his wife of 30 years, Mary. It is often said that opposites attract. No couple exemplified this beautiful balance more than Marc and Mary. Marc’s stoic nature perfectly complemented Mary’s drive and determination.
Together, Mary and Marc lovingly raised their four boys Owen, Adam, Ethan and Charlie. While some parents have grandiose plans for the success of their children, Marc’s message to the boys was simple, “find what you love and be the best at it.” Marc was able to witness all four of the boys find happiness and dedicate their lives to their passion.
Marc’s professional life’s work was the growth and success of Highland Consulting Associates, which he founded in 1994 alongside Rich Veres and Bill Kinde. No one loved work more than Marc. He believed deeply in the service that Highland provided and loved to help clients become more successful. Marc’s passion for work was reflected in his relationships with Highland’s clients. Where most business relationships are transactional, Marc’s ran much deeper. Many of his clients became some of his closest friends. Much to the delight of Marc, the golf course became an extremely effective meeting room for Marc and his clients. Before you met Marc, you could hear him. Marc’s booming voice bounced off the walls of meeting rooms, grade school gyms, churches and through the fairways of Avon Oaks Country Club. The echoes of Marc’s voice will live on through his legacy of positivity, compassion and dedication.
Marc courageously battled ALS for the final four years of his life. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Marc’s name to the Live Like Lou Foundation: https://www.livelikelou.org/donate

Marc was a brilliant businessman who I got to know as a consultant in 2000, but like many, got to add the title of friend over the years. He brought value in a boardroom but more value in being a family man, kind human and faithful steward. He genuinely made the world a better place. Blessings and prayers to his beloved family. With honor and respect, Dana Ullom-Vucelich & Ohio Living.
