Such a kind, loving, humane, gentle man. I will always remember him with a smile.

Wish I tried to get him to San Francisco to work with me after he wowed me when he spoke at a conference at my invitation Im retired on Maui now. Marcel was a giant in his profession and a mentor to developmental pediatricans in the early days of that subspecialty.

We have lost a wonderful, brilliant human being. He was so kind and generous to our family. I will never forget him, and consider it an honor to have met him.

I was very sad to hear of Marcel's passing. I met him when he came to give a talk at my graduate school in the late 1970's while he was still at Sick Children's in Toronto, and every time I would run into him at a conference over the following years, he remembered me, and was always kind and encouraging regarding my work and our discussions about the brain.
