Marcel was a great comfort to me as I recited shiva over the uncle I never met at the Lorraine US military cemetery. When we discovered that we both were graduates of Baltimore City College high school, we spent the next two days together visiting sites in the area, including the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp, where Marcel had played a big role in turning the site into a memorial and museum.
