Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

HANIFAN, Marcelene Anna – Of Burton, age 87, died Monday, February 18, 2019.


Visitation 4-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Marcelene will lie in state 10am Friday at church until the time of the Mass.


Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, March 1, 2019 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Father James Mangan officiating.


Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery 2pm Friday, March 1, 2019.


Marcelene was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Klempirik) Malik. On June 23, 1956, she married Daniel Hanifan and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2014.


Surviving are daughter Mary and husband Mark Bellamy of Vassar;


son, Daniel Hanifan of Georgia;


brother, Frederick and wife Helen Malik of New Lothrop and Hilton Head, South Carolina;


nieces and nephews.


Marcelene was a beloved mother, who devoted herself to her family and home. She will be sadly missed.


She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Malik.
