Mrs. Marcella Gillham Hubbard, age 90, of Rome, formerly of Kennesaw, passed away Thursday evening, November 20, 2014, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hubbard was born in Altus, OK on July 2, 1924, daughter of the late George and Pansy Steed French. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Irving Gillham, as well as her late husband, Alfred Jack Hubbard, Jr., and by a brother, George French. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Macy's at the Town Center Mall following many years of employment with Rich's. While in Kennesaw, Mrs. Hubbard was a member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church. Upon moving to Rome, she became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rome. Mrs. Hubbard most enjoyed being a mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, who will dearly miss her.

Survivors include 5 daughters: Pam Rosett (James Ruska), Cumming, GA; Cindy (Billy) Pharr, Snellville, GA; Gina (Jay) Schecter, Rome, GA; Becky (Malcolm) Stanchfield, Savannah, GA; and Marcie (Eric) Heiter, Canton, GA; 2 sons: Craig (Dixie) Garner, Powder Springs, GA; and Matt Hubbard, Marietta, GA; 19 grandchildren: Niki Haubner, Andrew Rosett, Susie Rosett, Pam Cain, Jason Garner, Lauri Heintz, Melissa Caldwell, David Garner, Charles Garner, Josh Thomas, Mala Hyder, Hayley Bidez, Michael Schecter, Stephanie Schecter, Camilla Hubbard, Kevin Hubbard, Karina Hubbard, Rachel Heiter, and Ryan Heiter; 16 great grandchildren: Lily, Teddy, and Amelia Haubner; Trey and Ashley Cain; Alexis Watkins; Aiden Randleman; Tara Grace Garner; Justin and Kirsten Heintz; Collin and Ryanne Caldwell; Savannah Thomas; and Lexi, Kherington, and Finley Hyder; 2 sisters: Bobbie Webb, Chesapeake Beach, MD, and Bonnie Hooley, Joplin, MO; 1 brother, Gene French, Clovis, CA; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 11am at First Presbyterian Church of Rome with the Rev. Jeff Chadwick officiating. Interment and graveside service will follow at 3pm at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
