Not sure what to say?

Senor Brooks represented that rare experience you could only get at Fisk. Although I took French as a foreign language, Senor corrected my Spanish on a regular basis, stating "since you are from Texas, respect the language of those who were there first". His involvement with us, regardless of primary purpose or major, will endear him always. Heaven is blessed with his smile and attention. To the Family, thank you for generously sharing him with all of us.

I am very pleased to have has an opportunity work with Senor Brooks as a teacher of Spanish for a semester at Fisk University in the late 1970s. He was a friend. May God continue to bless his family!

He was my man. Long after graduation, I kept in touch with Senor and would periodically visit Fisk just to see him. His words of wisdom were and are priceless. I left his memorial service inspired and elated that I had the opportunity to know and be taught by such a giant. La paz, Senor. I will miss you.

Marcellus was my classmate and dear friend while at Fisk. Often he would check my Spanish to make certain I was using the correct tense. Know that his love and friendship will be remembered.
Brooks Family know that God's loving presence is with you. God Bless,

Bill & Vivian Turner & for our kids, Kisha, Jomo & Hodari -- who called him "Uncle Brooks"

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

"Hola Senorita!!! Como Estas!" He had a special way of saying it. I have fond memories of Senor Brooks. I was blessed to have had him as my freshman year spanish teacher at Fisk University...for 2 semesters. He graciously kept my dorm room belongings in his storage for every summer of my undergrad career. I will never forget his warm spirit. My prayers and condolences goes out to Senor's wife, son and the entire Brooks and Fisk University Family.
