Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Marcy was born on Nantucket--I guess that's why she was a "salt of the earth" person. I first met her probably 20 years ago when I was a Town Councilor in Barnstable through the MMA, then I encountered her again when I did a graduate program at the Center for Women and Public Policy at UMass Boston, and have seen her so often at their Advisory Board and events through the years. She was a true public servant, never afraid to do the work needed to make something happen, and...

Marcy was one of the first people that I met when I became a Selectman in 2007 and became involved in the Massachusetts Municipal Association. She was always incredibly friendly to me, introducing me to many other Selectmen and others involved in the MMA. I was impressed with her dedication to serving her community, and her willingness to encourage others to seek careers in public administration.

Marcy was an extraordinary person - I count myself fortunate to have known her. She was a dedicated public servant and inspired so many, myself included.

Marcy was an extraordinary person. I knew her at U Mass Boston's College of Public and Community Service where she worked tirelessly on behalf of students. She was the "keeper" of the college's alumni and could always be counted on to know who graduated when and what that person was currently doing. She will be missed by all of us who knew her at CPCS. But most especially - she is missed by all the students she championed over the years.

Remembering Marcy with fondness. Thanks for your special caring.

Jennifer- Tims Mom

Dear Joan, Stephen, David and Peter:
I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I can remember the years we were in school and we lived across the street and all the things your Mom was involved in starting with our activities in school. Our Mother's spent many, many years being friends and always kept in touch. Your Mom did so much for the town and continued to work through her illness many years ago. She was truly a "gem" and I can only hope that both our Mother's...

It's hard to imagine Marcy not being around. I knew her for countless years through ASPA. It's hard to think of anyone more giving of her service, more genuinely interested in the people around her, and more willing to provide advice or insights from her own long and varied experience. While many will miss her, we can all celebrate what she gave us.

I will always fondly remember Marcy for speaking her mind and going after what she felt was the right thing to do. Her energy and determination were an inspiration to me having worked with her early in my career. Best to her family.
