Funeral services for Marcia Hamm, age 61 of Clarinda, IA, who died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Bryan LGH- East, Lincoln, NE were held Monday, August 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hillside Missionary Church, Clarinda, Iowa with Reverend John Clark officiating. Burial was in the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association for Asthma Research. Marcia Kay Hamm was born May 16, 1946 in Clarinda, IA, the daughter of Rollyn and Jean (Steeve) Sunderman. She was a 1964 graduate of Clarinda High School. Marcia and Ron Hamm were united in marriage July 5, 1991, in Clarinda. Marcia worked at Lisle Corporation for many years as a hydraulic press operator. Through the years, Marcia would also have part time jobs, the most current with Hy-Vee. Family was very important to Marcia and she loved being with her kids and grandkids and attended all of their various activities. She enjoyed trips to Colorado and most recently her trip to Germany with grandchildren to see her daughter. Second only to her family was her love for riding horses. Marcia is survived by her husband, Ron Hamm of Clarinda, IA; children, Traci Dias and husband John of Omaha, NE, Steven Powers and wife Denise of Shambaugh, Iowa, Robin Bertolini and husband Alex of Berlin, Germany, Jennie Durfey and husband Mike of Clarinda, Iowa, step children, Kari Marlow and husband Rob of Deatsville, AL, Chris Hamm of Clarinda, Iowa; grandchildren, Jessica Muller of Omaha, Nebraska, Jacob Muller of Clarinda, Iowa, Stephanie Powers of Shambaugh, Iowa, Shelby Powers of Shambaugh, Iowa, Hannah Powers of Shambaugh, Iowa, Darian Durfey of Clarinda, Iowa, Marshall Durfey of Clarinda, Iowa, Quinn Durfey of Clarinda, Iowa, Lydia Bertolini of Berlin, Germany; step grandchildren, Zach Marlow of Deatsville, Alabama, Anthony Marlow of Deatsville, Alabama; parents, Rollyn and Jean Sunderman of Clarinda, Iowa; sisters, Judy Barker and husband Paul of Villisca, Iowa, Cheryl Wallace of Bedford, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Marcia in death were her grandparents. May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn Marcia's passing.
