Not sure what to say?

An amazing and compassionate mentor. She will be missed and leaves so many warm memories. Many of her wise remarks I now think of and use in my life. Greatful to have had her in my life.

So sorry to have missed Marcia's Celebration of Life! Marcia will surely be missed but her spirit will live on in every heart she touched. Her compassionate and giving way of being will be with me always. To her partner Nyla, my condolences and prayers of healing are with you as well as Marcia 's family members.

As you remember your love one, may your treasured memories continue to bring you peace, comfort, and strength to endure.

Marcia was a great teacher and a never say die advocate for so-called problem or troubled students and public schools. I was part of the Opportunity II High School for three years and I remain grateful to this day that she and her colleagues invited me to be part of their project.

Marcia helped me so much during my high school years, especially when I was troubled. She truly loved her kids.

I taught with Marcia for several years at Opportunity High 1 and 2 in San Francisco. She was a founder and leader of the school designed as a modern alternative high school. I loved Marcia's sense of humor which was always on and her vision for our unusual but effective school for disenfranchised youth. She helped get me on track for a 35 year career with the San Francisco Unified School District.
