Marcia Sue Robertson 10.27.1937 – 1.29.2024
Please join us 1pm Saturday, February 10 to celebrate Marcia’s life at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N Girls School Road Indianapolis, IN 46214. Visitation will be 11am-1pm before the Service.
Marcia was a quiet and kind soul. She was the matriarch of the Robertson family and home, which was a busy hub for family activities. She was the one who made the house a place where everyone felt welcome and loved. Her home was a safe place to relax and feel comfortable. It was full of laughter and love and so many precious memories were made there. She willingly embraced the role of homemaker and she did it so well. No matter how late you stayed, you were always leaving too soon.
She had a way of nurturing through actions, often working quietly behind the scenes to make things happen, and also to let you know she loved you. Christmas was never complete until we all got together at Mammaw and Pappaw’s house on Christmas evening. She made it magical. The Robertson home will not be the same without her presence.
In a family of loud and opinionated people, Marcia kept her opinions to herself. She was present, but was a woman of few words. She was able to see many points of view, and to her, keeping the peace was more important than making a point.
Marcia’s faith was strong. She preferred simple things and lived life contentedly. She lived in the moment and was not bound by time constraints. She quietly walked to the beat of her own drum, and at her own pace. Food was one of her love languages and “Mammaw’s Chili” was one of her specialties. She loved the fall season, Christmas, teddy bears and old things. She loved shopping for treasures in Brown County, Metamora, and other places that had cute little gift shops. She always searched for the best bargain, even at the grocery where she could spend hours. She loved to play Password, Euchre, and other games. She enjoyed watching sports on tv, and going to little league games to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play. Her favorite part of any day was drinking her ‘morning’ coffee while watching birds and squirrels through her kitchen window. She loved her sweet treats, especially chocolate, and Diet Cokes.
With a Christ-centered and loving marriage spanning more than six decades, the love Robby and Marcia shared is an inspiration to us all. She supported all of Robby’s endeavors, and was extremely proud to be Mrs. Coach. She was the “how” to his visions of adventures and family traditions, working behind the scenes to make them happen. Her family was her life, and our lives will forever be influenced by the life she gave to our family.
She had a large circle of precious friends who were like family. They enriched her life and gave her much happiness. She had many honorary grandchildren, and she loved them too.
She was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church and she was involved with a close-knit small group that meant so much to her as they shared their lives and prayed together.
Her favorite Bible verse was John 14:2-3.
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
