Marcie J. Koons, 55, of Pittston, PA, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Bucks County, PA, Marcie loved living in rural Allentown, NJ where she resided for many years. A Registered Nurse, she earned her BSN and worked as a Clinical Coordinator for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. She was very involved with her children's activities as they were growing up and volunteered as a band parent and 4-H leader where she was able to share her nursing talent as well as her love of animals, especially horses. Marcie had a generous spirit and was always helping others; even at the end she helped many people by being an organ donor. Above all Marcie was devoted to her family and was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

Daughter of the late David Hornstein she is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bill Koons; her children, Laura, Melissa and David Koons; her mother, Gertrude Hornstein; her granddaughter, Holly Koons; her brother Denis Hornstein and his wife Nancy as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation with the family will be held from 1pm to 5pm Saturday, February 25th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Memorial contributions may be made in Marcie's name to The Sharing Network, Attn: Foundation, 691 Central Ave.,
