What a dear person - Marcile - and, one of a kind! I met Marcile through her dear friend, Elinor Nichols,and they invited me along for many nice events in our retirement years. Marcile, Elinor,and Emily Rice (before her death) were rather close as well. I was not a teacher but they accepted me with kindness. Marcile seemed always to smile. She and I shared rides for a few years to go to exercise at Bayland and the YMCA. So many good memories. And, Marcile never bragged about the service...

I first met Marcile in 1970 when I attended a Delta Kappa Gamma meeting in her home. We became instant friends and had a good time traveling to various cities in the US and to Toronto, Canada to attend various DKG conventions. Usually there were 4 or 5 or more of us who traveled together and we always had a great time and enjoyed meeting other teachers from many countries. I will remember her as a cherished friend who always went above and beyond what was expected to...

Miss Hollingsworth invited me and my husband, Michael, and our daughters, Christine and Bethany Lee, into her home so that we could swim in her beautiful pool. It was a lovely experience and I recall her hospitality was so sweet. To truly teach is a calling, and the great ones who share their gift are recalled by their pupils. I noticed some entries by her students who loved her. May God grant her eternal peace and rest until we see her again.

When I attended Lamar High School in the early 1950s, Miss Hollingsworth taught chemistry and was greatly admired by everyone. I want to express my sympathy to her family and many friends.
