Not sure what to say?

I had Mr. Matheny in 1990-1992. He had a love for his students and education. We were the lucky ones to know him and the impression he left in our lives is priceless. I will miss you Mr. Matheny and that smile that would light up a room. Prayers and hugs to the family!! Rest In Peace Mr. Matheny!! Thank you Mr. Matheny for making a difference in our lives!! I will never forget you!!❤ Candida Pulsifer (Watson)

There are just not enough kind words to describe this amazing man. He and Angie were among the first people I met 36 years ago when we moved to Florida. He was quite literally a father figure role model to my kids, and is surely the reason my oldest became an educator. He was always so kind, caring and funny. The strength that you embedded in your family through your actions and your faith will carry them through this difficult time. You will surely be missed, but remembered with laughter,...

And may choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest.

And may choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest.

It is with sadness that I and so many must say goodbye. You touched many lives and left those lives with positive feelings. I am glad that I got to know you and work with you. You will be missed by all. Prayers to your family.

I wasn't one of his players, or a jock of any kind. Just a stupid kid who got into trouble and probably wouldn't have graduated high school if he hadn't intervened on my behalf. I had no way to know then how much that changed my life's trajectory. Thanks again, Coach!!!

Teacher, mentor, coach ..... and so many more ways to describe what a great influence he has been on so many lives over the years Rest In Peace my friend

He was a great teacher and a husband and a father to his family and students because I was one of his students More then 20 years ago his family will be in my thoughts and prayer. Love you all. On behalf of the Lunderman family, please accept my deepest sympathy. My father in law (Coach Lunderman) always remembered Coach Matheny with a smile, a story and endearment when he spoke of their times together. I loved him in high school just like so many and later as a neighbor! He was a sweet, kind hearted man who didn’t seem to know a stranger. I will never forget him and will keep you all in my heart during the coming difficult days.
