Not sure what to say?

I had the honor of running for Sgt. Mathes in the 9th Run for the Fallen. I've read all the information I could find online and I watched the memorial video. His name will not be forgotten. I thank you for his service and for the service of his family. I saw the rock was gone on Sunday so family must have been there. I wish I could have met you.

Today you would be 35. I can't imagine what you would look like...but I know those twinkling eyes and bright smile would be flashing and you would be making others laugh. Love you....forever and ever. (Mom)

Some days are just hard...missing you and knowing I will see you again one day.

I had the honor of running for Sgt Mathes for the 7th Annual Run for the Fallen. His memory lives on and his sacrifice will always be remembered. God Bless!

Oh, how I miss you my son! Today was the Warrior Walk in Lakeland and you were mentioned often. :) You and your service to our country is not forgotten and never will be. I love you "to the end of the world and back, forever and ever".

Sgt. Mathes, you have not been forgotten brotha. Salute rendered. Forward March....

Another year our valiant soldier watches over us,
Another year he is dearly missed..
Remembering your brave sacrifice this memorial day..
