Querida Marcy, You were my first friend when I entered academe (Pomona College). Whether dinners at my little college house in Claremont, or seeing Youssou N'Dour at the Palace and staying at your place in Venice or any place in-between--including a few years later, tu boda con Larry--you were always radiant. Words can hardly express the great respect and love I have for Marci as a scholar, a consistently wonderful and compassionate person, and a fantastic cook (a competitor for the title of "best" fried chicken), adored by her devoted husband, Larry, friends, and everyone who has enjoyed being in her presence.
