Not sure what to say?

Querida Marcy, You were my first friend when I entered academe (Pomona College). Whether dinners at my little college house in Claremont, or seeing Youssou N'Dour at the Palace and staying at your place in Venice or any place in-between--including a few years later, tu boda con Larry--you were always radiant. I will never forget your blazing intelligence, but even more, your humor, your beautiful smile and voice, and your warmth. My deep condolences to Larry. QEPD, amiga del alma, con amor,...

Marcy, my amiga del alma, you will always be loved and our memories cherished.

Marcyliena's passion, power, and intellect made the university - and the the world- a better place. She is deeply missed.

Single Memorial Tree

Words can hardly express the great respect and love I have for Marci as a scholar, a consistently wonderful and compassionate person, and a fantastic cook (a competitor for the title of "best" fried chicken), adored by her devoted husband, Larry, friends, and everyone who has enjoyed being in her presence. Sharon

Single Memorial Tree

I was a student in Dr. Morgan's Hip Hop course during my senior year at Harvard. She was always open to our ideas and very funny in class! May she rest in peace and power.

May Marcy rest in peace. I extend my deepest sympathy to Marcy's family and loved ones, and during this difficult time, may you be strengthened in knowing that Marcy held the respect and fondness of so many colleagues, including myself.

Dear Marcyliena: Too early you left and broke hearts of all who loved you. Your QUIET AFRICANITY WAS CONTAGIOUS Smiles flooded from your lips Silent love swam in your eyes.
